About
A few things you should know
Intro
I'm Ajay Mohan, a product designer based in Bangalore.
I design and ship. At deployd.io, I build full-stack applications with Claude Code and Antigravity, manage servers, and deploy production services. Every week I find a process that can be automated, and I automate it. This is what working in the age of AI looks like.
Before deployd, I was employee #1 at Zorp, a venture-funded no-code platform. I led design from day one, helping grow the platform to 40K users in 3 months. Before that, I designed Rappo, a consumer loyalty platform that scaled to 500K users across 100+ locations in India, Singapore, and the UAE.
Over 8 years, I've shipped products for clients including Qatar Airways, Dubai Airport, and BlackRock.
How I Work
I treat every workflow as a candidate for automation. If I do something twice, I ask whether AI can do it for me. Claude handles my research and writing drafts. Antigravity writes code while I focus on product decisions. I've built internal tools that reduced hours of manual work to single commands.
Concept to production in the same day. That's the speed AI enables when you commit to it. I prototype in Figma, then build the real thing. No handoff. No waiting for engineers. The loop is tight.
My career has been B2B products: no-code builders, developer tools, enterprise dashboards. Technical users, dense workflows. The challenge is simplifying without dumbing down. AI makes that faster, but the thinking stays hard.
Background
I grew up in Singapore, studied Biomedical Sciences at Republic Polytechnic, then moved to Scotland for university before pivoting to tech. I spent 2.5 years in the Singapore Armed Forces, which taught me how to lead under pressure and ship when it matters.
My first UX roles were at small agencies. I learned web development alongside design, which shaped how I think about products. I don't design features I can't explain to an engineer. I often build them myself.
I've been based in Bangalore since 2019.
Beyond Work
Outside work, I read a lot (strategy, psychology, sci-fi), tinker with mechanical keyboards, and explore what AI can do for creative work. I'm always up for a conversation about product, design, or building things.
